The small, sleek, and completely redesigned Dexcom G7 receiver gives people with diabetes the information they need in a device made to fit their life. Seamlessly working with the Dexcom G7 CGM System, this device relays users' glucose numbers in a vibrant, easy-to-read display or in conjunction with the smartphone app, providing patients and clinicians with powerful insights.

Designed with convenience, reliability, and functionality in mind, the pocket-sized Dexcom G7 receiver has a user interface that maximizes viewing of the most essential information. The slim, ergonomic design simplifies use and makes it easy for older or visually challenged customers to navigate.

Function is as powerful as form with the Dexcom G7 receiver - it's been engineered to meet IP54 dust and water ingress requirements, sound commanding alerts and alarms, and can withstand hundreds of drops with its damage-resistant screen. For a CGM system as capable and complete as Dexcom G7, every component must deliver on the quality and experience expectations of our most discerning users. While most users prefer the phone app, there are many patients, most commonly children or seniors, who rely on the receiver every minute of the day, and for them the experience needs to be at least as easy and reliable as the phone app. As with the rest of the G7 system, we set ambitious goals with the receiver, demanding that it be easier to use, longer lasting, and more affordable.

Usability and function of the Dexcom G7 receiver led its design direction and demanded special attention to its dimensions, requiring a small size for more convenient carrying. This is especially important when users must carry it alongside everything else one would keep in their pockets as well as potentially an insulin pump, we know pocket space is at a premium.

The color, materials, and finish were aligned with the other hardware products in the Dexcom G7 product line to create a unified visual brand language and enhance the overall brand expression. Rounded and chamfered edges contribute to its durability and also help tie the receiver stylistically to other Dexcom G7 hardware.

The screen display uses a dark background with lighter graphics and text, helping with contrast and creating the perception of a larger screen when matched with the black recessed bezel. The VDI-21 surface texture was applied to the receiver to create a comfortable gripping surface, showcase form through diffused light, and increase robustness, helping shield the product from scratches and scuffs. Polycarbonate is used in place of glass, resulting in a more durable product screen.

Lastly, a four-quadrant designed button was designed to improve the intuitive quality of the interface and allow the user to feel a clear tactile orientation.
The G7 receiver delivered on its lofty ambitions. Its small and sleek design fits beautifully into the hand and pocket. Its bright screen and long-lasting battery ensure the user will be able to see their numbers clearly for up to a full week between charges. And the user interface is easier to navigate quickly and easily than previous generation receivers. For users who don't have, or prefer not to use a smartphone, this elegant receiver empowers patients to take control of their diabetes manage it confidently.
